This fast and easy smoothie is loaded with sweet mango and strawberry Greek yogurt, giving you a healthy meal or snack that is perfect for on the go.
There are two types of people in this world – people who like smoothies and people who don’t. I fall into the first category. Every once in a while I’ll get on this crazy smoothie kick and make them daily for Lance and I to have for breakfast. I am kind of scratching my head right now wondering why I only have one recipe on the blog for them. It’s about time we fixed that.
For most of my teenage years and into my twenties I was a vegetarian. Naturally this freaked my parents out and they were constantly nagging encouraging me to make sure I got enough protein in my diet. My dad would insist I eat tofu, but I couldn’t stand the texture, until one day he put it in a smoothie. That forever changed me.
I ate my smoothies that was for a few years until Greek yogurt started to get popular in stores and I realized that had more protein in it that the silken tofu I was using. Plus it tasted sooo good mixed in with the fruit (and without the ick factor of eating tofu for breakfast haha).
When I came home to find a big box of Stonyfield Geek yogurt on my doorstep I couldn’t resist trying them in a smoothie. I made a few different combinations, but this one was one of my favorites. Mangos are one of my all-time favorite smoothie fruits and the combination of that with the strawberry yogurt won me over (although mango + superfruits yogurt was pretty darn tasty too!).
Stonyfield just added a couple of new flavors to their repertoire: Black Cherry and Café Latte – both of which are delicious (Lance actually polished off the last Black Cherry one this morning). And they reformulated the recipe to get an even creamier texture. Icing on the cake? It’s organic and no pesticides or GMO’s.
