Loving: Blogging friends! I have made so many awesome friends over the last 6 months through the blog and I love connecting and sharing with them on a regular basis. It’s so nice being part of such a fun community!
Reading: I set a 2014 reading goal on GoodReads – Let’s just say that I made a pretty hefty dent in that during January. It was a month full of really wonderful books!
I had been wanting to read Eleanor & Park for months – I even put it on our book club list (I’m sad to say it did not get picked). I finally got around to buying it on Kindle and let me tell you, this book is some kind of wonderful. It must have really resonated with me because a week or so later I saw this Taylor Swift video and it reminded me of Eleanor & Park and brought tears to my eyes. I’m a loser, I know. I also read Rainbow Rowell’s Attachments as well. I found it to be cute and very entertaining. I couldn’t put it down. Fangirl is next…
Katie McGarry did it again with Crash Into You. Oooh how I love her books and this one was no exception. In Pushing the Limits I couldn’t stand Beth, but then I loved her in Dare You To. And as much as Isaiah I hated *hated* in Dare You To, I couldn’t get enough of him in Crash Into You. I also read McGarry’s novella Crossing the Line, which was just as wonderful as the other books.
I left book club and immediately picked up our February pick – Just One Day. I love love loved this book. I liked the characters, the setting, the story – and it made my heart hurt a little. There may have been crying involved too. I quickly finished it and picked up Just One Year immediately after. I needed it. It was everything I was missing from Just One Day. I love happy Endings
And I’m desperately trying to finish Diviners (our Jan book club pick) but I struggling to finish it…
Watching: Our Sundays evenings have been full of Girls and Shameless – both are hilarious and full of drama. We’ve also started watching HBO’s new show True Detective. It has Woody Harrelson and Matthew McConaughey who are both homicide detectives retelling the events of a case they had together back in 1995. So far it’s pretty interesting, but the pace of the show is a little slow right now (although I have the feeling it will probably pick up a little as we go).
Anticipating: Lance and I are taking a trip out to Alabama for Valentine’s Day weekend to visit our friend Chelle. We are also road tripping up to Nashville for a few days and I’m pretty pumped about that! Anyone have any recommendations for either Huntsville, AL or Nashville?
Listening to: Things have been a little quiet here on the music front. Nothing new or exciting. However I have been listening to the Best Life Ever podcast put together by my blogging friends Heather and Julie. It makes me think twice about things…like what I do in that 5 minutes I’m waiting for my tea to steep..
Planning: Lance’s 30th birthday is coming up in a few months, so I’ve been brainstorming a few ideas of how to celebrate…
Working on: A February yoga challenge! I rekindled my love for yoga in January and thought it would be fun to do a month long challenge to do yoga every single day in February. So far I’m 4 for 4!
Wishing: I could spend a little more disconnected from social media. I am constantly checking my phone, looking at notifications, feeds, you name it. I need to embrace my down time and step away from all the online nonsense.
Sipping on: I’ve been on a bit of a water kick lately. It’s crazy how much more water you drink when you consciously make the effort – and it makes me feel so much better.
