Today’s drink is part of a new holiday series I’m doing called 12 Cocktails of Christmas! We’ll be counting down till Christmas with 12 different holiday cocktails.

For the first cocktail I made a Cranberry Ginger Gin Fizz.

Gin and I don’t have much of a long history. In fact, a year ago I would have told you I thought it tasted like a Christmas tree. I don’t even like Christmas tree smelling candles so I definitely wouldn’t consume a drink that tastes like one. Ew. As it turns out, not all gin tastes like pine tress..that’s only bad, cheap gin. I guess I like the good stuff haha.

This cranberry ginger gin fizz can work really well in a holiday party drink situation. It works for both gin lovers or  for those that just feel lukewarm about it. The cranberry juice gives it lots of flavor and can balance out the flavor of the gin and the ginger ale gives it a nice fizz. Plus the rosemary garnish is just too cute to pass up – it looks like acute little tree branch!

I also want to note that I used a pure unsweetened cranberry juice  the first time I made it and took the photos. If you like a strong cranberry flavor this would be a good route to go – if not, use regular cranberry juice you find on the juice aisle at your grocery store! Your color won’t be as vibrant, but the drink will have a sweeter overall taste. Don’t want to compromise the color? Use the unsweetened juice and add in a little simple syrup to sweeten it up!

Although this technically isn’t exactly a gin fizz since it doesn’t have any egg white in it, but it’s a fun holiday twist on the idea.
