Do you ever have those nights when you magically lose 2 hours of your life to the internet? I’m totally guilty of that one. Okay so actually YouTube is solely responsible this time around. It’s so easy to click video after video..I just can’t help it! Ohh YouTube
Tequila is a pretty popular beverage in my household so I decided to spice it up little and take it to the next level. Spicy food and tequila pair perfectly, so why not put spicy into some tequila? It’s works like a charm.
This recipe is super simple – slice up a few jalapenos, pour in some tequila, then let it hang out for a few days. One word of advice though, it might be a good idea to put on a pair of gloves while you’re slicing up the jalapenos. They’ve been know to cause a bit of burning (watch out for your eyes!).
You have just enough time to make it for Cinco de Mayo – or just for summertime cocktails. Margaritas mixed up with this infused tequila come out slightly spicy with tons of jalapeno flavor. These Pineapple Jalapeno Margaritas are my favorite way to use it!
- 3 jalapenos, washed
- 750ml bottle of tequila
- Slice jalapenos into ¼ inch size pieces, including the seeds. Place them in a large quart size jar. Pour in a 750 ml bottle of tequila. Seal the lid and give the jar a good swirl. Keep the jar in a dark place for 2-3 days. If desired, swirl/shake the jar once a day.
- After your 2-3 days, pour the tequila through a fine mesh strainer to remove all the pieces of jalapeno and seeds. Funnel the infused tequila back into the jar or bottle for storage.
- Refrigerate and use within 1 year.
