Layered Pizza Dip

This weekend was SO cold here in Arizona – we had highs of like 50 degrees (yes, HIGHS). That is about unheard of ‘round these parts. While out to dinner with friends on Sunday night I even saw a lady wearing one of these fur hats and a giant puffy fur lined coat. Apparently the temps drop and people think we are in Russia or something? It was bizarre..

But in other breaking news, I have suddenly realized my spring/summer TV schedule has gotten intense. First of all, like I mentioned last week, Girls and Shameless started this weekend (I watched Girls and it was hilarious as always…they should have made it a full hour). Aaand The Walking Dead comes back February 10th! But wait..that’s not all! Dexter is starting back up early at the end of June – JUNE! Score! I’ve also heard some rumors that Mad Men might be starting back up in April too, which coincidentally would fall perfectly into my potential birthday plans for this year..

I’m starting to think that whole paragraph makes me sound like I LIVE for TV, but I promise it isn’t so (let’s be honest, food holds the real key to my heart Winking smile ).

But you know what is on everyone else’s mind??!? Football. I’m not really a fan, but I do love me some football snacks. That’s the real reason why Super Bowl parties are even somewhat entertaining to me. Oh and remember that Fantasy Football Team I joined way back in September? Well I sorta forgot about it for a little bit, but luckily I didn’t completely loose )but I definitely didn’t win either). I need to remember that I didn’t really like it when it rolls around next year haha.

So today I bring to you a Super Bowl worthy dip! A layered pizza dip to be exact! It takes almost no time at all to assemble – just a tiny bit of stirring and layering – then throw it all in the oven till it gets all hot and bubbly.

I think the most important component here is probably the pizza sauce. You definitely want to choose one wisely – it’s the part that will make or break the taste of your dip. Other than that you can have fun with the rest. If you want to do a take on meat lovers pizza and throw on some sausage, by all means do it – if you want to do an all veggie version with olives, peppers, mushrooms and tomatoes that would work too! I personally like turkey pepperoni with olives and green peppers on mine (plus the variety of colors looks fun too!).

And for dipping just use whatever you like! I served it with some Triscuit crackers and some toasted baguette slices, but honestly any cracker or bread would work too..breadsticks anyone??!
