Weekly Recap: September 3rd–9th 2012

So this week I had 3 rest days (oops!). All last week my life/schedule felt kinda bananas so I’m not too concerned with getting only a few workouts in, but I probably shoulda put in a little effort to do something active on a couple of those…

September 3rd-9th

Monday:  Run 4.17 miles/43:08/10:20 pace

Early Labor Day run with Ari and Stacey. I somehow missed that this was an easy run for their training plans and I was trying to kick up the pace a little the entire run…oops! But Stacey and I sprinted the final .17 back to Ari’s house which was fun, but I was definitely feeling the heat!

Tuesday: Rest

Wednesday: Rest

Thursday: Bike 12.72 miles/1:01/ 12.5 mph

Ari and I swapped our usual easy Friday ride to Thursday. We rode to Dutch Brothers for coffee (or tea in my case!) before work. Other than that it was pretty uneventful!

Friday: Run 10 miles/1h 43 min/ 10:17 pace

This was my first “long” run since Napa in July and honestly it went really well! I’ve only done two 6 milers and one 7 miler in the past month so I was a little nervous to jump up to 10, but it was great.

Ari and I also saw lots of wildlife on the run. First a coyote was cruising around on the other side of the canal, then we saw toad along the canal path (which we thought was a leaf). Later there was also a jackrabbit and a huge fish. That’s a lot for less than 2 hours outside :)

Saturday: Run with Team Challenge

I ran the first mile with the team then waited at the bridge with water for anyone who needed it. It was great to be able to cheer them on!

Sunday: Rest

Next week…

I still want to try to find a place to swim cuz I definitely miss it. I think it would be a great way to recover from all the running miles I’ve been doing lately.

And I want to survive the 17 mile run I foolishly committed to running with Ari on Friday. We shall see my friends, we shall see..

You mean the 17 mile run you BRILLIANTLY committed too. I was thinking we’d hold a nice and easy 3 minute mile, set some olympic records. Ya know, just for fun…
