So it turns out that today is Tuesday. Where the heck have I been?! Being sick and refusing to slow down for the weekend has got me all mixed up haha. This was a mediocre week since I wasn’t feeling well for half of it, but I am glad I got a few workouts in :) Here last weeks recap:
August 27th- September 2nd
Monday: Run 7 miles/1:09/9:51 pace
Pre-work run with Ari – we started off slooow again (around 11 for the 1st mile and hovered around 10:30 for 2 &3) but then after mile 3 we decided to keep it under 10. We were feeling pretty good so we stepped it up for the final mile and did it in 8:31! It felt good to push it after already running 6 miles. Serious runners high after that run!
Tuesday: 3.39 mile walk
I somehow convinced Lance that we should wake up at 5 am and take Tink for a walk! We normally do a two mile loop with her, but I thought it would be fun it we tried 3. after 2 and half miles I thought I might have to carry my 75 pound dog the rest of the way home – she was exhausted and tried to lay down in the canal (ewww)
I woke up feeling like death and ended up not going in to work. Mark my words – this is the last time I will ever share a beverage with a 5 year old. Way too many germs for my liking.
I woke up to run with Ari, but I couldn’t manage to breathe out of my nose and still felt awful.
Friday: Bike 18.54 miles/1h 25 min/ 13.0 mph
Took a nice easy ride with Ari. I still wasn’t feel great but decided that an easy bike ride would be a good thing for me. Somehow after breakfast we noticed Ari had a flat tire. While Ari called Steve to come help, I watched a video on YouTube on how to change a tire. I almost got it by myself. Okay…so I wasn’t that close, since I never got the tube off (the video skipped the part where you let the air out of the tire haha). But Steve was kind enough to show me how to change it.
Saturday: Run with Team Challenge/Lake
Run 2.72 miles – Week two of my Team Challenge coaching! I ran/walked with a couple different people this week and everyone seems to be really motivated and excited to be running.
We headed to the lake around 4:30 in the evening and got the best wakeboarding we’ve had all summer long! The lake was practically empty and we had lots room to wakeboard. I also did my first jump ever! I was so excited – it was probably like a foot off the water but it was air none the less! We also made Emily try and she was really good for her first time – she was even able to stand up!
Kick up my running mileage just a little & look into finding a place to swim.
