From here on out I’ll be posting weekly recaps on the blog about my training/work outs/exercise for the week. My goal is for this to help with accountability :) And keep me on track when training for my upcoming races.
Bike 10.6 miles/50:00/12.7 mph – Did a 6 mile early morning ride before work with Ari. We took it easy since she just did a half on Sunday – and stopped for coffee halfway :) Nice way to start the week!
Swim 2250 yards/1:00 – Camille has been wanting to get in the pool and do a little swimming so I happily agreed to go with her (despite the fact that I haven’t swam since may…). I got a guest pass for her gym and we got swimming. She wanted to swim for an hour so that’s what we did! That was my first time swimming for that long so I didn’t know what to expect – and I was happy with my distance since it’s the furthest I’ve ever swam(*cough* Half Ironman distance *cough*)! It was a fun way to spend the afternoon!
Wednesday: Swim 1250 yards/30 min
Wednesday’s are my early days at work so I knew I could get anything in before and I had our Team Challenge Kick Off that evening, so I decided to do a really quick swim during lunch – because something is better than nothing! Since I felt pressure to make it worth it I jus,t kept swimming and didn’t really take many breathers. I guess I don’t need as many breaks as I thought…
Thursday: Run 6 miles/1:02/ 10:08 pace
Early am run before work with Ari. It’s been rainy here all week so our humidity is stupid high – and I’ll be the first to admit that I have zero skills for adapting to it. The run wasn’t bad it just felt like the air was thick, that and I have never sweat so much in my life!
Friday: Bike 11.69 miles/53 min/ 13.3 mph
Ari and I did our usual Friday am bike ride and breakfast. This one was a little tricky since it was literally pouring at the start. Poor Ari rode in it to our meeting spot and I had to pick her up – but as soon as I did the rain went away, go figure! We decided to go for it and it sprinkled off and on throughout our ride, but we made the best of it! :)
Saturday: Run/Lake time
Run 1.68 miles – This was my first day of coaching with Team Challenge! We sent the team out on a 1-1.5 mile run. I started running with the front of the pack, then would fall back every couple minutes to run with a few others then finished up with the walkers. I was so impressed at how well everyone did for the first week!
The rest of my Saturday afternoon was spent at the lake swimming and wake boarding!
I would like to continue my 2 week momentum for waking up early and getting workouts in before I leave for work – this requires a 4 am wake up call but so for it has been so very worth it! I also want to get back into the habit of stretching on a regular basis.
