Our holiday lights are up on the house…
The tree is up and decorated…
Playlists full of Christmas music are blaring throughout the house – but mostly in the kitchen…
And I made a playlist for all of you to join in on the fun (through Playlist.com): A Very Marvelous Christmas Playlist! And yes, that is Hanson you hear :) I figured some throwback bands were necessary to get you through the holidays, plus a few of my all-time fav’s like Michael Bublé and Frank Sinatra! I think the whole playlist is a keeper.
The first batch of holiday cookies have been baked…
I did however, have some help from this little guy!
Not only does this cookie spatula do something amazing when it comes to getting my cookies safely off the cookie sheet, but it also helps support Cookies for Kids’ Cancer! OXO is donating up to $100,000 to help find a cure for pediatric cancer.
How can you help?
You can Bake a Difference by purchasing one of these limited edition cookie spatula’s. Each spatula helps OXO support Cookie for Cancer, with 50% of the profits benefitting pediatric cancer. You can get them from Amazon.com or from Bed Bath and Beyond.
Want to do a little more? You can visit www.oxogoodcookies.com to find out how you can host a bake sale to benefit Cookie for Kids’ Cancer in December or to send virtual cookies.
I have killed a countless number of cookies in my kitchen by using all kinds of crazy spatulas (and other tools…) and now that I have used a legitimate cookie spatula, I am hooked! And I want to share one with you guys:
What better way to spread some Holiday cheer than by giving away one of these spatulas to one lucky reader :)
To enter this giveaway, please leave a comment on this post telling me your favorite holiday tradition.
How it works: Entries for this giveaway will close on Wednesday December 14th at midnight. The winner will be selected at random and announced on or after December 15th. This giveaway is open to US residents only.
Full disclosure: As a part of the OXO Blogger Outreach Program, I have received two limited edition OXO “Be a Good Cookie” spatulas; one to use and blog about, the other to give away. No monetary compensation was received and a positive review was not required. The opinions and views expressed are wholly my own.

1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. ground ginger
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ground cloves
Pinch of fresh nutmeg
3/4 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
1 cup packed light brown sugar

With a mixer, combine the butter and brown sugar until smooth and creamy, about 3 minutes. Add in the egg and vanilla extract and molasses, mix until well combined. With the mixer on low, slowly add the flour mixture. Add in a little at a time until all of the flour is mixed in.
Form the dough into Tablespoon sized balls. Roll the dough in white sugar. Place the cookie dough balls two inches apart on a large parchment lined baking sheet, pressing down slightly on each cookie.
